Encyclopedia Project Assistant

An exciting opportunity to join MDPI, a pioneer in scholarly open access publishing in the role of Encylopedia Project Assistant.

To extend the reputation of the Encyclopedia platform (http://www.encyclopedia.pub), we are looking for a project assistant with previous experience in scientific publishing including, books, Encyclopedia or a similar platform.

The position of Encyclopedia Project Assistant is a full-time and permanent position based in our city centre office in Manchester, UK.

As Encyclopedia Project Assistant you will:

  • Review the content of platform entries, maintain and develop new functions of the platform to improve the user experience.
  • Be responsible for promotional activities in Europe and US.
  • Provide ongoing marketing analysis of the Encyclopedia platform.
  • Provide information support to business departments.
  • Be given additional responsibilities in relation to the platform.


  • 2+ years experience in scientific publishing.
  • Bachelor’s degree or above (Master’s preferred), major in Marketing, Publishing or a related field.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Have advanced knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and basic image processing tools.
  • Strong copywriting skills and planning and editing ability.

As a successful candidate, you will receive full training in editorial work, working closely with Encyclopedia team to develop Encyclopedia to be a well-known scholarly community platform.
