An exciting opportunity to join MDPI, a pioneer in scholarly open access publishing in the role of Encylopedia Project Manager.
To extend the reputation of the Encyclopedia platform (http://www.encyclopedia.pub), we are looking for a project manager with previous experience in scientific publishing including, Encyclopedia, books or a similar platform.
The position of Encyclopedia Project Manager is a full-time and permanent position based in our city centre office in Manchester, UK with the potential to work remotely.
As Encyclopedia Project Manager you will:
- Be responsible for drafting the Encyclopedia in terms of its entry content and research focus in the field of discipline and invite scholars to contribute.
- Be responsible for promoting the brand influence of Encyclopedia in academia.
- Review the content of platform entries, maintain and develop new functions of the platform to improve the user experience.
- Be responsible for the Encyclopedia book project.
- Provide information support to business departments.
- Complete the personal project schedule in time.
Requirements:
- More than 4 years experience in Encyclopedia, book editing or another similar platform.
- Bachelor’s degree or above, major in publishing or STEM subjects.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
- Have advanced knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and basic image processing tools.
- Strong copywriting skills and planning and editing ability.
As a successful candidate, you will receive full training in editorial work, working closely with the Encyclopedia team to develop Encyclopedia to be a well-known scholarly community platform.
