We are seeking a Scientific Content Specialist to join our Manchester office. As part of our global Corporate Communications team, you will play a key role in developing and executing content strategies that effectively engage and inform key stakeholders. You will contribute to a wide range of scientific communication initiatives, including content development, podcast production, and media relations, helping to strengthen our global communications efforts.

This is a full-time, in-office role based in our Manchester city centre office, which is located next to Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester.

Key Responsibilities

Participate in the development and execution of always-on campaigns.
Support the development and implementation of major campaigns.
Propose multi-channel (blog and social media) and multi-format (long-form articles, text, video, podcast) content ideas that support campaign objectives.
Conduct research to develop multi-channel and multi-format content ideas that strengthen MDPI’s brand.
Ensure timely publishing, sharing, and promotion of content across relevant channels.
Contribute to the creation of at least four blog posts per month.
Participate in relevant team meetings covering key topics such as workload planning, SEO, content strategy, campaigns, and performance metrics.
Review articles from other contributors as part of the peer-review process.
Undertake additional communications and content-related tasks as required.

What We're Looking For

PhD in any field required.
2+ years of experience developing, coordinating, or creating content in a business environment.
Native-level English proficiency; additional language skills are a plus.
Familiarity with Microsoft O365.
Basic understanding of key social media platforms (Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube) for business use; prior content creation experience is an advantage.
Strong understanding of promotion and marketing strategies.
Experience using blogging platforms such as WordPress, Substack, Medium, or similar.
Intermediate knowledge of content creation and communication best practices.
Intermediate knowledge of SEO best practices.
