Role Overview

MDPI is seeking a Regional Marketing Assistant to support the regional office in engaging with scholars through the execution of the regional events calendar, conducting scholar visits, and providing assistance with digital marketing activities as required. An additional key responsibility of this role is to improve internal reporting on regional events and marketing activities, ensuring that relevant stakeholders outside the region are kept informed.

This is a full-time, in-office role based in our Manchester city centre office, which is located next to Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester.

Key Responsibilities

Conceptualise, plan, and coordinate online and offline workshops, webinars, and conferences.
Assist in implementing the regional marketing strategy and organising individual regional events.
Support on-site event logistics to ensure the smooth execution of all event activities.
Assist Deputy Managing Editors with organising and conducting on-site and off-site stakeholder visits.
Collaborate closely with editors, designers, and other internal teams to ensure consistent and effective marketing efforts.
Monitor and report on the performance of marketing initiatives, using analytics tools to evaluate campaign effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, maintaining marketing calendars, and managing correspondence.
Prepare post-event reports for internal stakeholders.
Collect and analyse feedback from event attendees and internal teams to evaluate event outcomes and prepare comprehensive post-event reports.

Additional Responsibilities

Handle incoming inquiries regarding information about all the services offered by MDPI.
Coordinate with external vendors for the procurement of marketing materials.
Undertake any additional marketing tasks assigned by managers.
Identify conferences and events in the assigned region that may be of interest for collaboration, generate leads, and make initial contact.
Conduct market research to identify trends, target audiences, and competitive landscape. Provide insights to inform marketing strategies.
Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to during events, set up and tear down.

Skills and Qualifications

2+ years of experience in the relevant field.

Bachelor's/Master's degree in marketing or events management.
Some experience in events planning and management.
Intermediate use of Microsoft O365.
Project management, digital marketing and content creation skills.
Intermediate communication, problem solving skills and ability to collaborate in a team.
